BLACK LIVES MATTER
Silvie Bells has worked with Neonatal Intensive Care Units for 4 years. Our foundation advocates, supports and donates to sick and preemie NICU babies. The NICU babies we serve are in crisis and need immediate assistance.
No one has ever said to us, “But, all babies matter.” Of course all babies matter, but we’re giving attention to the babies in crisis.
Black lives are in crisis - Black Lives Matter
SILVIE BELLS IS OUTRAGED
We are outraged at the murder of George Floyd at the hands of police officers.
We are outraged at the unrelenting violence by police forces against protestors.
We are outraged that a leading cause of death of black men is the police.
We are outraged at the systemic racism in America.
SYSTEMIC RACISM
Black babies are born preterm 50% more than in white babies.
Black babies are 3.5 times as likely to die as infants due to complications related to low birthweight.
Black women have a 4 times greater risk of death from pregnancy complications than have white women.
Black children live in poverty at 34%, compared to 12% of white children.
Black loan applicants are denied twice as much as white applicants.
Black families have $5.04 for every $100 a white family has.
POLICE BRUTALITY
1 in 1,000 black men die from police killings.
Black Americans die more from the police than from diabetes.
Black Americans are 2.5 times more likely to be killed by the police than white Americans.
99% of murders by police officers have not resulted the officers being charged with a crime.
ACTION
We demand the three police officers that killed Breonna Taylor be charged with murder.
We ask every college and university in America to enact a George Floyd scholarship fund for black students.
We support H.R 40, a bill to create a commission to study the effects of slavery and discrimination, and recommend remedies.
We ask that Amazon add a Black Owned Business section to their departments.
